At the Reel NY Festival, we're all about celebrating the incredible talent of filmmakers! While not every submission can be accepted, just finishing a film is a remarkable achievement worth honoring. Unfortunately, not all the listed films can be accepted.

We are thrilled to shine a light on "A Fragile Peace" by award-winning filmmaker Rory Duffy. A Fragile Peace: Brexit and Northern Ireland follows three people from Northern Ireland as they try to maintain peace in this politically uncertain time.

We are thrilled to shine a light on "The Woman Without Mercy" by Grace Pritchard. A burnt-out barista is faced with an opportunity to leave it all behind for a seeming fairy daydream.

We are thrilled to shine a light on "Holy Rollers" by Grace Pritchard. In the Deep South, a love between queer-presenting Eve and her religious best friend struggles to blossom inside the confines of a tight-knit church

We are thrilled to shine a light on "Fools Gold" by award-winning filmmaker T.J. Morehouse. Would be thieves are foiled by a Cherokee curse.

We are thrilled to shine a light on "In Half"  by Jorge Morais Valle. Through a child's imagination it tells the journey of a man who after falling prey to his fears, he must cross a strange world, a universe full of magic, where he will be confronted with his own fears and conflicts from the past and where he must find solutions for the future to discover his self-identity.

Their stories invite viewers on a journey to explore the symbolism and deeper meaning within their paintings, mixed media, and installations.

We are thrilled to shine a light on "The Lie" by Alana Stark.  Country Club looks, a million dollar smile, and a million dollar bank account. He has everything, including a drug addiction. He says he's in recovery but his habit knows the truth. What will it take for him to realize it's just a lie?

We are thrilled to shine a light on "The Premiere" by John Silver. On the night of his first movie premiere, Jacob Sanders is hounded by mounting issues and paranoid delusions appearing on the screen. Disaster looms at every turn - his family argues, audience members complain, the popcorn machine breaks, and the movie file doesn’t work. All of these problems are exacerbated by the rumored arrival of a famous Actor. Jacob struggles to overcome disaster, all while fending off criticisms, expectations, and disturbing figments of his imagination.

We are thrilled to shine a light on "The First Man" by Hardeep Giani.

World renowned anthropologist Curtis is consumed by grief over his young daughters' deaths. He finds solace in immersing himself in preparations for his upcoming expedition to Asia, where he aims to unravel the mystery of "The First Man." However, he must confront an undercurrent of family conflict as he battles against his relatives' unsettling suspicions that his wife Martha is carrying his best friend Bigelow's child.

We are thrilled to shine a light on "3 Vendors Of Ipanema" by Jonathan S. Lee. The Human Being is Only Free When He is Master of Himself”
These words cap a mural in a favela high over Rio De Janeiro. Epictetus’s words frame the lives of three street sellers descending from the hills to sell their homemade foods on the “Farme” section of Ipanema Beach. The independent dignity of these vendors embody entrepreneurship and lives well lived. The three have been known and loved by the LGBTQ+ community on the Farme Beach, for decades.
